  • Jackie Summers - A 25 year resident of Denver. A former Miss Gay Rocky Mountain USofA, Empress 35 of the Imperial Court. Jackie has entertained coast to coast over her 25 years of performing from Toronto to Hawaii and all points inbetween. The voice of the show and your MC.

  • Brittany Michaels - It began Halloween 1983 at the ripe old age of 19. Since that time I have been in numerous casts around Denver. Masquerade @ Club Tower, Lipstick @ The Metro, The Playgirl Follies which were the first drag performers to entertain at People's Fair, Dreamgirls @ Hamburger Mary's, Denver Divas @ Charlie's, The Kai Lee Mykels Show @ XBar and many other guest spots around the city and state. I still enjoy entertaining and love the crowd interaction. If making one person feel better, then I have done my job. I also have been involved in many charity events over the years as a performer, host and MC. Here is to almost 40 years of entertainment.

  • Nicole Sommers - Part of the Drag Community for 32+ years. Cast member of Denver's longest running shows Lipstick, Dreamgirls, Vivid, Atomic. Empress 21 of ICRME. Produced annual fundraising show for AIDS Walk Colorado (25 years). Has preformed in Mexico, Canada and across the USA.

She is the founder of the Gay Pride Contest of all Colorado which just celebrated its 34th anniversary. Many call her Big Momma and describes her as large and in charge. She loves to bring fun to the stage with her comedy and various talent selections.

  • Miss International Gay Rodeo Charis Loren - Charis started drag 26 years ago for charity reasons. She quickly learned that with a title, she could raise even more money. She just celebrated her 20 year anniversary as Miss Gay Pride of all of Colorado. She was also crowned Empress 33 of ICRME 16 years ago. As Miss Colorado Gay Rodeo, the association allowed her the opportunity to win her current title of Miss International Gay Rodeo.

A note from Sam:

This series of works, titled Liminal Blue, is focused on the concept of liminality, or the transition from one state of being to another. It is an attempt to capture the complicated feelings one feels at the cusp of something new; excited yet unsure, eager but reticent, confident yet uncertain. The process of finding one's way in a new unfamiliar place, mentally, emotionally, or physically, can be daunting, yet exhilarating. This feeling of being in a liminal space is often incredibly uncomfortable for most people, myself included. After moving from New York, to Connecticut, then London, and now Denver, the lack of stability and order has left me off balance and searching for a center of gravity by which to orient myself in this new reality. This series is for me, the artist, a tool of finding my footing, and for the viewer, a contemplative commentary on life's transitory spaces and our place within them.
