Ironton Distillery’s Ponderosa Gin Named 2022’s Best Gin in America
Ironton Distillery’s Ponderosa Gin was recently awarded three medals at the 2022 ADI International Spirits Competition.
Best of Class – Distilled Spirit – Gin
Best of Category – Distilled Spirit – Signature Botanical Gin
Double Gold Medal: Awarded to a spirit of superior quality where each judge gave a score of at least 90 and that is judged to be of exceptional quality for its class and category
Spirits entered in the American Distilling Institute’s International Spirits Competition is judged blindly by an expert panel of spirit judges.
American Distilling Institute notes “The best of category designation is awarded to one spirit in an individual spirit category i.e. Bourbon, Classic Gin, International Fruit Liqueur etc. that earned at least a silver medal, was the highest-ranked medal for the category, and was judged to be the best example of the category from all spirits entered in that category.”
Ironton’s Ponderosa Gin is made with locally grown Ponderosa Pine needles, lavender, sage, and rosemary, all harvested from the distillery gardens. It’s like walking through a mountain forest after a rainfall and is the best way to take in the Spirit of the Rockies.
Ponderosa Gin can be purchased at Ironton’s RiNo Denver Tasting Room (3636 Chestnut Pl.) or at various stores throughout the state of Colorado.
In addition to Ponderosa Gin, Ironton’s Coffee Liqueur was named Best of Category – Bottled & Blended Spirit and given a Silver Medal and new American Straight Malt Whiskey was awarded a Silver Medal.
